About Us

   

After a corporate executive career, my wife and I moved to Central Texas in 2018. My family immigrated from Germany in the mid-1800's to Mason County, Texas bringing their German traditions and heritage with them.  So coming to this area of Texas was like coming home!

I have always been close to agriculture and animal husbandry.  Over the years we have raised livestock ranging from over 100 Red Angus cow/calf pairs to a small herd of Boer goats and chickens. 

My wife has a long history with beekeeping.  Her grandfather was a New York State Apiary Inspector when she was a little girl.  He managed enough hives to ship honey all across the United States in those days.  She has fond memories of helping with the extraction and bottling process in the honey house.

I picked up beekeeping as a hobby when I was in high school in Houston in the 1970's.  I rediscovered beekeeping a few years ago after being away from the bees for all of those years.  

Before long I were tending to hives across Texas!  Along the way we decided to set up this website to tell our story and offer products of the hive to you.

Our relationship with Jodi McGee who is the owner of the Spa-Ology Day Spa in LaPorte, Texas has been instrumental in developing our lotion bar and propolis products.  She was the driving force behind getting me to put up this website.  As a Medical Massage Practitioner she is truly an expert in all things massage therapy and skin care. We also attend farmer's markets from time to time which gives us a chance to interact with our friends and to continue to spread the word about the wonder of the honeybee! 

From time to time we will offer items that are not exactly "bee related" just because we think they are interesting.  Examples are dried luffa pods and shopping bags made from feed sacks.  You never know what may show up!
